About us
GISMA was founded in 1983 with the production of pressure hull penetrators for the defence market.
We have >95% in-house production depth and produce 100% of our designs in-house, allowing for complete control over adjustments, availability and product lifecycles.
We currently have about 110 employees and the size of our facility is 5.800 m² with plans to expand towards the end of this year, based on the increible growth over the past years.
GISMA Steckverbinder GmbH designs and produces high performance underwater connectors that are deployed deep sea down to 10.000 m. The actual production line comprises more than 15.500 different electrical, coaxial, fibre-optical, hybrid connectors and penetrators for Defence, Offshore, Renewables and R&D applications. Connectors are available with up to 265 contacts, suiting to maximum current rating of 1.000 amps and 10.000 V working voltage.

Products & Services
Our product range is divided into multiple series, separating form, function and area of use.
Additionally, we create customer bespoke cable- and oil filled hose-sets, for which we offer the termination work and FAT in-house.
Due to the large variety of our connectors, we recommend you send us an inquiry with your technical specification, since not all our products can be showcased in our catalogues. We will gladly help you find the best and most cost efficient solution.

Series 40
The main fields of application are:
- Offshore Industry
- Renewable Energy
- Naval Technology
- Marine Research
The series 40 is designed for underwater applications down to 6,000 meters depth.
Low insertion loss is attained by direct connection with polished front surfaces of the optical fibres (PC-contact principle).
It is strongly recommended that the termination of the f/o- / hybrid connectors should be carried out by our specialists.
Receptacles can be ordered with pigtails.
For fitting the fibre contacts special tools are required.
Fibre optical and electrical contacts can be replaced by the customer and are available as individual parts.
Please note that for the different contacts suitable O-ring seals must be fitted.
The endbells are removable for maintenance, and give rearside access to the contacts for cleaning and spare fibers (highly recommended) for retermination if needed.
Endbells with strain relief e.g. kevlar armored cable are available on request.
Design features:
- dry mateable
- modular contacts, equippable in each slot (electrical 1mm / electrical 2mm / fibre SM / fibre MM / dummy)
- double O-ring sealing system in the mating area
- interchangeable pressure watertight caps with contact inlay
- electrical, fibre optical and hybrid contact layouts
- shell material: marine bronze, stainless steel and titanium
- dismountable endbell for easy refurbishment
- nickel- and gold plated high performance contacts
- robust keyway
- insulation distance according to DIN EN 60664-1 (VDE 0110-1)
- open face longitudinally watertight
- low attenuation
Series 80
The main fields of application are:
- Subsea Stab Plates
- Subsea Trees
- ROV mateable applications
The fluid filled pressure balanced electrical connector series 80 is specially designed for deep sea mating.
Constant and low mating forces minimize the material stress at all designed pressure and depth capabilities.
